The short answer
A custom suit is made for one person, so it takes a little time: choosing the cloth, taking measurements, cutting, making and a fitting. With us that typically comes to 3–4 days. More detailed designs, extra pieces such as a waistcoat, or a busy week can make it longer, which is why we always ask when you are leaving.
If you are on the island for only a few days, it can still work. The key is to start early in your stay rather than on your last afternoon.
Visit early in your stay
The best day to come in is your first or second day on the island. That leaves time for the suit to be made, for your fitting, and for any small adjustments before you go home.
You do not need an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome every day from 10:00 to 23:00, so you can come by after the beach or before dinner. If you would rather choose a time, you can request an appointment and we will reply on WhatsApp to confirm it.
Choosing fabric and talking through the design
Your first visit is a conversation. Tell us what the suit is for, where you will wear it and how you like your clothes to feel. A suit for an office in a cold city needs different cloth from one for an evening on the island.
Then we look at fabric together, comparing weight, weave and colour. Our fabric guide explains the main types, from lightweight wools and linens to heavier cloths for travel. What is in the shop changes, so the final choice is always made in person.
You choose the details too: the lapel, the buttons, the pockets, the lining and the trouser front. If you have a photo of a suit you like, bring it. You can see the starting points in our men's suits collection.
Measurements and your fitting
Our tailor takes your measurements in person and records them on your order. The suit is then cut and made in our own workshop on Koh Samui.
Most suits need one fitting. You try the suit on, we check how it sits as you stand, sit and move, and we make adjustments before you collect it. If you would like another fitting, just ask.
Already know your measurements, or ordering again? Our measurement guide shows what we record, and we still check everything with you in the shop.
Planning tailoring around a short holiday
A simple way to fit it into a short stay:
- Day 1 or 2: visit the shop, choose your cloth and design, and have your measurements taken.
- The following days: enjoy the island while the suit is made. Keep your phone handy, as we may message you on WhatsApp.
- Your fitting: come back at the time we agree, try the suit on and approve the final adjustments.
- Before you leave: collect your suit. Tell us your departure date at the start so we can plan around it.
Shirts and trousers at the same time
Many visitors order more than a suit. We also make custom shirts and tailored trousers, cut to the same measurements, so it is worth deciding what you need on your first visit. Ask us how long your full order will take when you place it.
